The CAPS program and designation were created by the National Association of Home Builders in collaboration with the AARP and other experts, in response to the growing market demand of people wishing to age safely and securely in their homes.
Nancy attended the three day intensive program which teaches technical, business, and customer service skills to the residential remodeling industry and providers of products and services for the aging baby-boomer generation.
With this designation, she is qualified to make recommendations that will help our clients live independently and safely in their own home.
She is qualified to work with Occupational Therapists to develop plans for home modifications to meet the specific functional needs of the person and their household. She is also qualified to collaborate with others to address building and design strategies for creating attractive, barrier-free living spaces.
Nancy is qualified to conduct a 240-point comprehensive home safety assessment that includes the exterior of the home, all entry areas, every room including bathrooms, bedrooms, laundry room, garage, basement, kitchen and dining room, lighting evaluation, fire safety and electrical safety. Afterwards a complete summary is prepared with recommendations for fall prevention and home safety and the suggested modifications.
“We could never thank you all enough for being there for mom. It was such a wonderful day when we were able to bring her home from Woodlake and we were comforted to know you and your team were there. Your kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. Dana and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
“We want to extend our sincere appreciation to you, Heather and all of the care providers at Care for Me at Home that were involved with mom. She was treated with dignity, respect and a genuine concern for her well-being. Your flexibility in response to our need for increased care and additional hours enabled us to spend some very meaningful and precious time with mom.”
“April proved to be dependable and hard-working. She was knowledgeable of and had a common sense approach to the challenges facing someone at the end of life. Her “can do” attitude and pleasant way always made us feel that mom was the best hands possible. Mom trusted, respected, and liked April very much. She felt safe when she was with April.”
